Hunting is more than a sport; it’s a vital part of ecosystem management. I designed this Wilderness Tracking Kit specifically for Ohio’s youth to help them reconnect with the outdoors and understand the role hunters play in conservation. The kit is a comprehensive toolkit for the young explorer, featuring a Tracking handbook containing multiple popular animals, a wilderness journal for field observations, a duck call, and a pair of binoculars. By providing the physical tools to observe nature without disturbing it, this project aims to turn a simple walk in the woods into a meaningful lesson in environmental balance, with the hope of understanding hunting on a much deeper level.
